12 -1 pm
CITRAL (LIBRARY ROOM 1576)
Gabby is a fourth year pursuing a double major in History and Psychological & Brain Sciences. She is currently working on a senior honors thesis within the history department under the supervision of distinguished professor Dr. Laura Kalman. While taking a pro-seminar last winter, she wrote a paper addressing the political, social, and economic consequences of the 1970s deinstitutionalization movement of the mentally ill, which she argued eventually played a role in the current mental health crisis in the United States. For her thesis, she will be expanding her research on one of the major consequences of the crisis--the disproportionate amount of mentally ill in the criminal justice system.
