Thursday, April 30 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm
This performance is a retelling of the separation of Papa-tū-ā-nuku (earth mother) and Ranginui (sky father), part of the Māori creation story. The theatrical presentation is offered as an exemplar of what can be achieved by Māori high school students when they enjoy educational success as Māori. Involving both traditional and modern Māori performing arts, Te Wehenga is a theatrical show written, choreographed, and performed by 16 senior students of Mana Tamariki.
