Have you ever seen the words "good" and "adequate" on a scoring guide and felt uncertain about where or why to describe a student's work as one versus the other? Come join us as we discuss the details of designing an effective rubric, from delineating the key attributes of quality student work in your discipline to selecting useful scales for your specific courses.
Come with a target course/assignment and your learning outcomes in mind, and a sample of student work for such an assignment in-hand!
Josh Kuntzman is the UCSB Assessment Coordinator.
