Partnerships Matter: Setting a Course for Enhanced Sustainability through the Ocean Health Index

Thursday, December 3 at 12:00pm to 1:00am

In celebration of our 25th Anniversary, the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS)invites you to join us for a virtual panel discussion with Ben Halpern, Director of NCEAS, Courtney Scarborough, Deputy Director of NCEAS, Dr. Emily Shumchenia, from E&C Enviroscape and the Northeast Regional Ocean Council, and Erich Jose Juan Pacheco, Equity & Policy Manager at Portland Water Bureau as they discuss how they are partnering through use of the Ocean Health Index to inform efforts to build resilience in coastal and ocean environments throughout the United States. Each year fellows at NCEAS evaluate ocean health through the Ocean Health Index for all 220 coastal countries. Ocean Health Index scientists partner with governmental entities and environmental organizations to conduct smaller-scale assessments and have developed customized ocean health evaluations for dozens of individual countries and regions from British Columbia to French Polynesia.
