Student to Professional :: Navigating the Financial Transition
The urban dictionary defines “adulting” as a way to “do grown-up things and hold responsibilities such as a 9-5 job, mortgage/rent, a car payment, or anything else that makes one think of grown-ups”. While the term may be relatively new (and has wildly increased in usage), the scenario is not, and has been something that terrifies new graduates of almost any generation.
As part of your UCSB Alumni experience, we want to help make this transition as smooth as possible and have put together a workshop to advise you on best practices and methods to make the most out of, and decipher concepts related to, your new life as a professional member of society. In doing so, we’ll discuss budgeting, short and long-term investment planning, risk management, tax & estate planning, and any other topic of interest. This is not intended to be a boring financial seminar, rather an alumni/attendee-driven opportunity to have your questions answered so that you can move forward into this new life chapter with clarity and confidence.
