EFP Informs: The California State Budget

Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Does California have enough money?

Hear from Gabe Petek, California’s Legislative Analyst, about the just-released annual report: California’s Fiscal Outlook

  • Does California have enough resources to fund its budget commitments for the upcoming fiscal year?

  • Over the longer term, does California have the capacity to take on new commitments, such as spending increases or tax reductions (and, if so, how much)?

  • If revenues are not as strong as estimates, will California’s budget reserves be sufficient to cover shortfalls?

Following the discussion, Peter Rupert will moderate a virtual Q&A session. Please plan to submit your questions.
